Fusion of the day: Korean/Peruvian/Cuban

So the other day I decided that it would be a great idea to just have  a wine, fruit, and cheese type of dinner. I mean, why not? You have your fruits, dairy, and your calcium! Healthy, right?!?

Yet, something told me it may not have been the best choice, but whatever. I needed to "wine" down. I was starting to get super anxious for my trip! Yipeeee!

The next day, my foodie friends saved me and decided I needed a sensible dinner. The stashed hubby and I in their car and drove us to a land not too far away, yet once we arrived to FINKA, it appeared that we had just traveled over 30 minutes to the "chic" area of Miami. "FINKA" is a deliciously amicable friendship between Peruvian/Korean/Cuban cuisine. I may be a little biased in regards to Peruvian being the tastiest cuisine, but really, the fusion, mesh, intro, presentation was to die for!

Early in the night, I asked the bartender to make me a "Chilcano" a refreshing mix of Pisco, lime juice, and ginger ale. So tasty!

Anyhow, here some of the dishes we had for dinner. And like all great foodies, we order plates to share! Everyone has to taste everyone's food! So dig in and see!

We were extremely pleased with the food and the prices! Yet, we felt a bit shafted since they did not take reservations on a Thursday night and we had a 50minute wait. Although the music was great and jamming, the volume could have been a bit lower. We were yelling at each other while seating a few inches across from each other at a table! But even with these comments, I would still come back here in a flash!

What would you do?!?!

A Triple D and Guy Fieri Approved GNO!

I love a girls night out at a delicious restaurant. Lucky for me, my friends asked me to pick the restaurant for our dining experience!

I would like to think I am the foodie amongst my friends since I always enjoy visiting new spots and trying out new restaurants that open up all over Miami. And well, Whisk is one of the restaurant that does not disappoint.

Just ask Guy Fieri who was in Miami and visited Whisk for his show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!
Anyway, if you ever want to go to Whisk, I highly recommend going as it is a little hidden gem in an area called South Miami. The food feels hearty, homey, and it is just delicious!

And FTW...they have BACON WRAPPED DATES!
My friend Carol ended up taking two orders of these babies to take home to her hubby!!

I JUST LOVE FOOD!

What a lovely week!!!

Last week was certainly one to remember. I made a conscious effort to go running this week...I made a total of 4 attempts to run/walk! Which is great by the way, considering I've been sidelined for almost a year! I definitely see the difference on the scale and that makes me super duper happy! My goal is 20lbs so I can fit back into the clothes I wore two years ago....let's see how that goes!

And of course, if there is a win...there must be a celebration. Lucky for me, my dear friend Emily was able to have her dad babysit her little Ethan while she and I spent some quality time together sipping on Bellinis (Prosecco sparkling wine and peach nectar).

Ethan is 21 months old and is such a stud! I couldn't resist his cuteness and surrendered my phone immediately to him. Little did I know, he was having a selfie party all by himself!

How has your week been so far???

My not-so-motivation...

Today...it seemed like it was hours away!

Hubby decided he would visit me at work yesterday afternoon. Of course, I made him wait for me while I finished editing some reports. What came after brought a smile to my face...wine and dinahhhh!

I had been to this quaint little mom-pop restaurant before, La Portena, but since it is a tiny hidden gem, he and I and the waiter were the only ones in the place. The decor may have been cheesy, but the food (Italian & Argentinian) plus the bordeaux wine (yes, French wine!) we chose were to die for!!!

Nom nom nom...here I go...gaining 20 more pounds all the way home!

Have you had any good surprises come your way after a long work day?

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

My dearest hubby hit it on the nosh when he purchased annual tickets for Disney this past summer!

And of course, a trip to Epcot's Food & Wine Festival was a must! So this weekend, a group of 6 of us decided to meet and tour around the world!
We started in the UK, made a quick trip to South America, back to the US, Asia, and Europe.

So maybe I skipped the lava cake in Ireland, but my favorite countries in this mini world tour were Argentina's Steak with chimichurri, Brazil's Frozen Caipirinhas, Canada's Spicy's sausage and polenta, Greece's chicken pita, and Belgium for their mussles, waffles, and Hoegaarden.

Hopefully we will have one more trip around the world before the season is over!
